What you can do with Remove Text from PDF
- Click a line of real text and delete it, rather than pasting a white box over it
- The rest of the paragraph re-wraps to close the gap, so the page does not end up with a hole in it
- Delete a single word or phrase mid-sentence and the line rewrites itself at the original font and size
- Use find and replace across every page to strip a name, an address or a phrase everywhere at once
- For scans and image-only PDFs, drag a cover matched to the page background instead
- Runs on your device, so nothing is uploaded and the export has no watermark

Remove Text from PDF FAQ
How do I delete text from a PDF?
Open the PDF in peadf and click the line you want to change. Because peadf reads the real text in the file, you can delete words or whole lines and the surrounding paragraph re-wraps to close the gap, instead of leaving an obvious blank patch.
Can I remove the same phrase from every page at once?
Yes. Find and replace runs across the whole document, so an old address, a name or a phrase can be stripped everywhere in one go rather than page by page.
What if my PDF is a scan with no real text?
Two options. Run the built-in OCR to turn the scan into editable lines, or cover the area instead: the fill is matched to the colour of the page behind it so it blends into the scan.
Is deleted text actually removed from the file?
For confidential content use Redact, which rebuilds the page without the original content so it cannot be copied or recovered. Ordinary deleting and covering changes what is displayed, which is right for typos and outdated details but not for secrets.
